Insert in Xmind

The Insert feature lets you attach links, other topics, files, or folders to any topic in Xmind. It helps you keep references and related content accessible from your map. This is useful for research and presentations.

To use Insert, select a topic and choose the type you want to add: link, topic, file, or folder. Xmind shows a small icon on the topic that opens the attached item when clicked.

• Insert Link: paste a web URL so viewers can jump to a reference page directly from the topic.

• Insert Topic: link to another topic in the same or a different map to create cross-map navigation.

• Insert File/Folder: attach local files or a folder to a topic for quick access to supporting documents.

This feature keeps your map organized and connected to external resources and notes. Use Insert to make research, presentations, and multi-map projects easier to navigate and share.
