Encrypt Your File in Xmind

The Encrypt File feature lets you protect a map with a password so only people with the password can open it. Use encryption to keep sensitive ideas, notes, or project plans private. Encryption applies to saved files whether on your device or in cloud storage.

To encrypt a map, open the file menu, choose Encrypt, set a password, and confirm. Xmind will lock the file and require the password to open or export. You can remove encryption later by entering the password and choosing Remove Encryption.

• Open the map, go to the menu, and pick Encrypt or Set Password.

• Choose a strong password and store it securely; losing it may prevent access.

• Use encryption when sharing files externally or storing confidential project details.

Encrypting files in Xmind is quick and adds a simple layer of protection for personal and team maps. It is ideal for securing private notes before sharing, backing up, or archiving.
