Create Multiple Tabs in Xmind

Tabs let you work with several maps in a single window and switch quickly between projects. This tutorial shows how to create and manage multiple tabs in Xmind.

To add a tab, use the menu or a keyboard shortcut to open maps in the same window. You can also merge open Xmind windows into one tabbed window to keep your desktop tidy.

  • Add a tab: go to the menu bar, choose File > New Tab, or use the shortcut (Mac: Command+T, Windows: Ctrl+T) to open a new tab.

  • Merge windows: go to Window and select Merge All Windows to combine multiple Xmind windows into tabs.

  • Switch and manage tabs: click a tab to switch, drag to reorder, or close tabs when finished.

Using multiple tabs in Xmind helps you multitask, keep related maps together, and reduce desktop clutter. Use the shortcuts and Merge All Windows to speed up your workflow.
