I can’t save my mind map—what should I do?

The following guidance applies to the Windows and macOS versions of Xmind.

If you are unable to save a mind map to your local drive, please try saving the file to a different location with a simple file name by going to File → Save As.

Common Error Codes and How to Fix Them

Error: ENOSPC: no space left on device, write

This indicates that your device does not have enough available disk space.

Solution:

  • Free up space on your disk, or

  • Use File → Save As to save the file to another location with sufficient free space.

Error: No access to

This error is typically caused by insufficient folder or file permissions.

Solution:

  • Go to File → Save As,

  • Choose a different directory, and attempt to save the file again.

Error: EPERM: operation not permitted

This means the application does not have permission to write to the selected file or directory.

Solution:

  • Go to File → Save As,

  • Choose a new file name and save the file to a different location with proper write permissions.
