Data Masking in Xmind

Data Masking helps you hide sensitive information in a mind map so you can share it safely with teammates or clients. Use Data Masking when your map contains personal, financial, or proprietary details that should remain private while still showing the map structure.

To use Data Masking, open your mind map, right-click the AI co-pilot, and choose Data Masking. The AI scans nodes for sensitive content and masks or replaces values automatically. You can accept the automatic results or refine which items are masked before sharing.

  • Select which types of data to mask such as names, emails, phone numbers, or custom terms.

  • Preview masked results and adjust masking rules or exceptions before exporting or sharing the map.

  • Share the masked map with collaborators or export a copy without revealing the original values.

Data Masking in Xmind is ideal for sharing drafts, meeting notes, or client mind maps when privacy matters. It speeds up secure sharing and reduces manual redaction while keeping your ideas clear and the map readable for collaborators.
