Perguntas Que Pode Fazer

Xmind AI

In this article, you’ll learn how to use Xmind AI to move from scattered thoughts, rough outlines, or existing mind maps to clearer structures and more actionable next steps — all inside your mind mapping workflow.

1. What is Xmind AI inside your mind map?

Xmind AI is an AI assistant built into your mind maps. It can understand the map you are working on, help you create and refine structures, work with selected topics, bring in research, analyze files and links, make map-wide updates, and turn finished maps into documents for tools like Notion.

Instead of switching between browser tabs, files, and your mind map, you can work with Xmind AI directly inside your mapping workflow.

2. How to start your conversation with Xmind AI?

2.1 Open the chatbot panel

Open a mind map in Xmind, then click the Xmind AI button on the upper left corner next to the map title. The chatbot appears next to your map, so you can view your structure and give instructions at the same time.

Xmind AI works with the active sheet you are viewing. If you want AI to work on a specific map, switch to that sheet first. It can read your map structure, understand selected topics, add new content, edit existing branches, adjust layouts and themes, or create a new map based on your request.

Show a mind map on the screen, then show the Xmind AI Chatbot panel sliding in from the side. Highlight that the Xmind AI appears next to the current map.

2.2 Choose a Response Mode

Xmind AI offers different response modes for different levels of complexity.

  • Quick: Simple questions, short answers, quick additions, light edits.

  • Balanced: Everyday map creation, editing, expansion, and restructuring.

  • Deep: Complex analysis, in-depth research, multi-step reasoning, and more complete outputs.

Show the response mode selector with Quick, Balanced, and Deep.

We recommend:

  • Use Quick when you need a fast response.

  • Use Balanced for most daily mind mapping tasks.

  • Use Deep when the task requires deeper reasoning, research, or a more detailed structure.

2.3 Three Ways to start your work with Xmind AI

  • Work with a blank mind map: Start from a topic, prompt, outline, or idea.

  • Work with your current mind map: You can ask Xmind AI to understand, improve, expand, or update the map you are viewing.

  • Work More Precisely with Selected Topics: Select one or more topics, then ask Xmind AI to work on that specific part of the map.

3 What can you do with Xmind AI in your mind map?

As your thinking partner inside Xmind, Xmind AI can help you understand your maps, create and refine content, adjust structures and themes, and more. The following sections introduce a few common ways to use it. You can ask Xmind AI to work with your map in natural language, and explore more workflows as you go.

3.1 Ask questions about your map

Xmind AI can review your current map and answer questions based on its structure. It can explain a branch, summarize the main idea, identify missing information, or suggest what to improve next. This is useful when you want to review a map before editing it, understand a complex structure, or decide what to improve next.

What you can do:

  • Ask knowledge questions related to your map.

  • Ask Xmind AI to explain a topic or branch.

  • Ask what information is missing.

  • Ask whether the current structure is clear.

  • Ask for suggestions before making changes.

  • Ask questions based on external materials, such as links or files.

3.2 Create a new map from an idea

You can start with a blank map, and ask Xmind AI to turn it into a complete mind map with a rough idea or uploaded files.

If the current page is a blank template, Xmind AI can replace it with a newly generated map. If your current map already has content, Xmind AI can create a new sheet for the new map.

3.3 Improve your map through conversation

Once you have a map, you can keep developing it through conversation. Xmind AI can help you add missing topics, expand a branch, rewrite topic titles, remove repeated content, or reorganize parts of the map.

This is useful when your map has a rough structure but still needs more detail, clearer wording, or better organization.

You can ask Xmind AI to make changes directly to the current map. If you want Xmind AI to focus on one part of the map, select the topic first and then refer to it as “this topic,” “this branch,” or “this section.”

You can ask Xmind AI to:

  • Add topics, subtopics, or leaf topics.

  • Delete unnecessary topics or branches.

  • Rename topics.

  • Move branches to a better location.

  • Expand existing topics with more detail.

  • Merge repeated ideas.

  • Rewrite long topic titles.

  • Organize a branch into stages, categories, or a matrix.

show a branch being selected first, then show only that branch changing after the prompt.

💡Attention: If you’re not satisfied with the changes, click Undo to restore your map to its previous state.

3.4 Bring research and sources into your map

When your map needs more information, Xmind AI can help you collect and organize external sources. It can search online, read links, analyze files, extract information from images, and turn the key findings into map-ready structure.

This is useful for market research, competitor analysis, study notes, project preparation, content planning, and any workflow where outside information needs to become part of your map.

Search online and add findings

You can ask Xmind AI to research a topic online. It can collect relevant information, show the sources in the conversation, and organize the findings into branches.

You can choose to review the findings first, or ask Xmind AI to add them directly to your map.

Show Xmind AI searching online and returning findings with sources in the chat. Then show the findings added as organized branches in the map.

Read links, videos, files, and images

You can also give Xmind AI external materials, such as webpages, YouTube links, documents, screenshots, or images. Xmind AI can extract the key points and help turn them into a new map or add them to your current map.

show a file, link, or image being added to the chat, then show Xmind AI extracting key insights and creating new branches.

3.5 Turn your map into a project plan

If your map represents a project, Xmind AI can help turn ideas into tasks and make the structure more actionable. It can convert topics into tasks, organize work into phases, add priorities, identify dependencies, and turn a project structure into a timeline. You can also ask it to remove all tasks in one prompts.

This is useful for project planning, product launches, event planning, study plans, content production, and team collaboration.

3.6 Make map-wide updates

For larger maps, editing each topic manually can take a long time. Xmind AI can help you make map-wide changes, such as restructuring the map, changing the visual style, translating the map, or making topic titles more consistent.

Adjust the map structure

Use Xmind AI when your map feels messy, repetitive, too flat, or hard to follow. It can reorganize branches, merge repeated ideas, split large sections, fill in missing hierarchy, or change the map into a more suitable structure.

Xmind AI reorganizes a flat or messy mind map into a clearer hierarchy with grouped branches and subtopics.

Adjust the map theme

Use Xmind AI when you want the map to look cleaner, more professional, or more suitable for presentation.

Xmind AI applies a darker, more professional theme to the entire mind map.

Change the map language

Xmind AI can translate the whole map or selected parts of it. You can keep the structure unchanged and save the translated version as a new sheet.

Xmind AI translates the mind map into Spanish and saves the translated version as a new sheet while keeping the original structure.

3.7 Send Your Map to Notion

When your map is ready, Xmind AI can help turn it into a document for tools like Notion, so your work can continue beyond the mind map.

Before using this feature, connect your Notion account first:

1️⃣ Open More.

2️⃣ Go to Connector.

3️⃣ Connect your Notion account.

4️⃣ Return to Xmind AI and ask it to create a Notion-ready document from your map.

The Connector settings show how to connect a Notion account before sending a mind map to Notion.

Xmind AI can generate a document based on your map structure, helping your work move from structured thinking to writing, collaboration, or delivery.

3.8 Ask questions about how to use Xmind

When you have a product-related question, you can also ask Xmind AI for help. Xmind AI will search our official user guide and provide an answer based on the documentation.

For example, if you are not sure how to add a task, change a layout, or use a specific feature, you can ask Xmind AI directly in the chatbot.

Xmind AI answers a product-related question by referencing the official Xmind user guide.

3.9 Manage your chats

You can start multiple chats for the same mind map. This is useful when you want to explore different tasks or directions without mixing everything into one long conversation.

  • To start a new chat, click the new chat button in the upper-right corner of the chatbot panel.

  • To switch between chats, click the chat title in the upper-left corner and choose a previous conversation from the list.

  • You can also delete the chats with Xmind AI.

💡Notes: Xmind AI is only available for maps you have permission to edit. Your chats are private to you and won’t be visible to collaborators.

The Xmind AI chatbot panel shows controls for starting a new chat, switching between previous chats, and deleting chats.

4 Tips for better prompts

For more accurate results, include three things in your prompt:

1. The object you want Xmind AI to work on

For example: “this map,” “this topic,” “the Market Analysis branch,” or “the current sheet.”

2. The action you want Xmind AI to take

For example: “expand,” “reorganize,” “rewrite,” “delete,” “translate,” or “create tasks.”

3. The result you want

For example: “make it presentation-ready,” “organize it into three stages,” “add it to the current map,” or “create a Notion document.”
