Xmind File Transfer

Xmind File Transfer

Xmind doesn't support synchronization. If you want to open the mind maps created with your PC or iOS devices on your Android phone, you may need to transfer your mind maps to your Android phone.

From iOS Devices to Android Devices

Method 1: Wi-Fi Transfer

  1. Make sure your iPhone/iPad and Android device connect to the same Wi-Fi

  2. Launch Xmind for Android

  3. Tap “three dots” > Wi-Fi Transfer, and then you can get a URL to connect two devices

  4. Launch Safari on your iPhone/iPad, go to the URL shown on Xmind for Android

  5. Tap Upload files > Browse

  6. Tap an .xmind file and then it will be uploaded to Xmind for Android

Method 2: Use a Third-party Tool (OneDrive as an example)

  1. Launch Xmind for iOS on your iPhone/iPad

  2. Tap Browse > Location > OneDrive, and save your mind maps into OneDrive

  1. Download the OneDrive APP on your Android phone and sign into your OneDrive account

  2. Launch Xmind for Android

  3. Tap “three dots” > Import

  4. Tap the menu icon on the upper left corner

  5. Enter OneDrive and select an .xmind file to import it into Xmind for Android

From PC to Android Devices

Method 1: Wi-Fi Transfer

You can use Wi-Fi Transfer to transfer your Xmind file from one device to another by connecting the same WiFi.

  1. Tap three dots on the upper right corner

  2. Tap Wi-Fi Transfer

  3. Follow the instruction on the page of WiFi Transfer

  4. Download or upload your Xmind files

Import Xmind file in Xmind for Android

  1. Transfer your Xmind file from your desktop using USB or Bluetooth

  2. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner on Xmind for Android

  3. Select Import

  4. Find your Xmind file on PC to import it to Xmind for Android

Method 1: Transfer via Google Drive

Google Drive is also recommended to sync your mind maps for Android devices.

  1. Create/Choose a mind map in Xmind for Android

  2. Upload your mind map in .xmind format and then share it to Google Drive

  • Tap the three dots in the upper right corner

  • Tap Share

  • Select Xmind format and then share it to your Google Drive

If you want to open an .xmind file from Google Drive,

  1. Launch the Google Drive APP on your phone

  2. Tap the .xmind file you want to open

  3. Xmind for Android will be automatically launched and open the mind map

  4. Edit your mind map

  5. Tap Home in the upper left corner to save your mind map
