Settings
In Xmind, users can customize their preferences based on individual needs, including appearance, display language, default zoom ratio, and more.
Xmind Settings lets you control the app’s general behavior, editor experience, calendar, connected services, and keyboard shortcuts.
Open Settings

macOS: open Xmind > Settings from the menu bar.

Windows: open the menu in the upper-left corner, then select Settings.

Home screen: select Settings in the left sidebar when it is available.
Alternatively, use the shortcut Command + , (Mac) or Control + , (Windows).
General
Open Settings > General to configure the app itself.

Appearance follows the system setting or uses the available light or dark appearance.

Toolbar buttons effect controls the visual effect used by toolbar buttons.

Language changes the display language.
-
Week starts on Monday changes the first day used in calendars.

Check spelling enables spelling checks while you edit.

Start Quick Entry at system login makes Quick Entry available after you sign in to your computer.

Automatically install updates keeps the desktop app current.

Automatically send usage statistics controls whether anonymous usage information is shared with Xmind.
💡 Tip: If Xmind asks you to restart after changing the language, save your work and follow the prompt.
Editor
Open Settings > Editor to configure how maps behave while you edit.

Default zoom level sets the initial canvas zoom.

Use last used skeleton & color theme reuses your most recent visual setup for a new map.

Always display Smart Guideline keeps alignment guides visible while arranging topics.

Default CJK font sets the preferred font for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text.

Show Floating Toolbar controls when the floating toolbar appears after you select a topic.

Show Add Topic button displays an on-canvas control for adding topics.
Calendar
Open Settings > Calendar to configure dates used by task and planning features.

Basic Calendar sets the default calendar behavior.

Working Days defines the days counted as working days.

Exceptions adds dates that should be treated differently from the regular workweek.
Share
Open Settings > Share to manage available sharing services.

Email uses the email option available on your device.

Evernote lets you connect or disconnect an Evernote account when this integration is available.
Shortcuts
Open Settings > Shortcuts to browse, search, customize, or reset keyboard shortcuts.

Use All or a category to filter the list.

Enter an action name in Search shortcuts.

Select a shortcut field and press a new key combination to change it.
-
Select Reset All to restore the default shortcuts.
Shortcut changes take effect immediately. There is no Apply step.
💡 Attention: A key can only appear once within the same shortcut combination.
